Are credit cards accepted at your facility?
No, Seasonal Beach Passes and Daily Passes can be paid for with cash or check only (please make checks payable to the Town of Middletown)

Please note: There is no ATM at the facility

Are dogs allowed on the beach?
No Dogs Allowed on Beach, except
May 1 – September 30 from 5:00AM – 7:45AM and
October 1 – April 30 from sun rise to sun set
Dogs must be leashed

Can you smoke on the beach?                    
No, smoking is not permitted at Sachuest Beach and Third Beach.

How much is a seasonal beach passes?
Middletown resident $70
Middletown Senior* $65
Middletown motorcycles $30
Non-Middletown resident $140
Non-Middletown Senior* $130
Non-Middletown motorcycles $60
*Senior rates apply to patrons 65 years old or older

A Seasonal Beach Pass does not guarantee you a parking space, all parking is on a first come, first served basis.                 

Do the parking lots usually fill up on weekends?
Yes, the lots can reach capacity around 9:00 AM on a weekend or a holiday but they can also fill up on hot, sunny weekdays as well. Plan ahead, get to the beach early.

Are there wheelchairs available?
Yes, we have a number of beach wheelchairs available, when pulling in the lot ask the gate attendant about borrowing one.

Is surfing allowed?
Yes, surfing is allowed from just west of path 8 and Lifeguard Tower 9 all the way to Purgatory Chasm. Rental equipment is available in the Surfer’s End parking lot.

Is Kite surfing allowed?
At Second Beach yes, but it is not allowed at Third Beach. Kite surfing is allowed on the east side of the beach, but due to the proximity to the nesting area of piping plovers there may be times when kiting is not allowed.
Kite surfers are required to stay 100 feet from all swimmers and swim zones.

Can we get married on the beach?

Can we have a small bonfire on the beach?
No, fires are not allowed on the beach. A list of Beach Rules can be found here.
